Oh hi, Earthlings.
What a long, strange journey it has been to reach this point in space-time. I'm sure you've felt it, the same as me, the unacknowledged crossing of a threshold. Something's not quite right lately, but trying to put your finger on it is... complicated. Your shoes aren't quite fitting the right way. Your hair isn't settling the way it used to. Your reflection doesn't look the way you remember. Don't worry, I understand.
That feeling is universal. I've got a bit of a complicated relationship with reality, with existence overall, but I can confidently state that even I feel the weirdness.
It seems a social shift has taken what we once accepted as reality and stretched it far past its breaking point. The ripples of that are what you're feeling right now. Not much of anything you see anywhere is real anymore. Digital faces, conjurations from the hallucinatory "minds" of "AI" are everywhere, perfect, idealized, begging for reverence. Art is no longer sacred, commodified to the point of extortion. Fake listings on Etsy for AI-generated slop, paid search engine results, facial alterations, it's all so gauche; maybe I've just become too blasé. Either way, it seems like the wider world has fallen out of love with what it means to be alive.
I'm here to let you know that being alive is the best thing there is, even on days it really feels like it isn't. You're made of the same stuff as the stars, you know. And like you, sometimes, they bubble and brim with vibrational anxiety with seemingly no explanation. But they still shine, still bathe systems in their warmth, nurturing a garden of life so consequential we call it a miracle. Like the stars, my friend, you're a miracle. Don't let these dogshit societal ripples convince you otherwise. I'm glad you're here, and you're going to kick 2026's ass.
I'm not one to set big lofty goals or make aspirational lists, but I feel it pertinent to stay on top of this reverberating decay. Here's to another cycle lived without my family, but with friends I wouldn't trade anything in the galaxy for. The love I feel burning in my heart could set the universe ablaze.
We're on the same curve, just on opposite ends.
